What is the Keto Diet?

What is the Keto Diet?

The KETO diet is essentially a diet that puts your body into a metabolic state know as ‘ketosis’

Ketosis means your body is burning your stored fat for energy instead of relying on carbohydrates to use as an energy source.

Sounds wonderful right…!? It is! AND its easier than you may think!

The KETO diet can be a difficult transition for someone who eats a high carbohydrate diet – lots of bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, cake, biscuits etc.

However, someone that doesn’t eat many high carbohydrate foods would find the keto diet a fairly easy transition.

To coax your body into a state of ketosis you will need to eat less than 20g of carbohydrates per day. Eating potato, bread or pasta would blow your 20g out of the water which is why high carb foods such as these while on the Keto diet are completely ‘out of the question’

There are amazing health benefits to trying a keto diet: A reduction in excess body fat, mental clarity and enhanced energy!

A typical days meal plan while on the Keto diet might look something like this..

Breakfast: Bacon & eggs cooked in coconut oil

Lunch: Grilled chicken & salad

Dinner: Slow cooked pulled beef with veg

Snacks: Boiled eggs, almonds, tuna, bone broth.

Sounds pretty good right!?

If you would like more information or if you would like to try the keto diet yourself, I am a qualified keto practitioner and would love to help you through a 5-week program.
